This is the first stage for the Professional level for both regular and conversion
There are two diets for this stage, which are: January/February Academy Section and August/September Section.
Lectures run from February to May for the first diet and August to November for the second diet

STAGE I (8 PAPERS)
1. Materials Production Planning and Control
2. Strategic Distribution Methods and Logistics Management
3. Finance for Supply Chain Managers
4. Economic Policy Formulation in Nigeria
5. International Business Management
6. Contract Procedures and Techniques
7. Legal Aspects of Supply Chain Management
8. Introduction to Procurement Management
EXEMPTIONS:
i. Exemption may be granted from all Foundation Stage subjects to holders
HNC/HND. B. SC in a related field from recognized Polytechnics, Colleges of Technology, and Universities.
ii. May be granted to holders of recognized and relevant Professional Certificates on subject basis
iii. Holders of HND or B.Sc in Purchasing and Supply Management are granted exemption from all the subjects in the Foundation Stage and Part I of the Professional Stage except Economic Policy Formulation in Nigeria.
NOTE:
A Candidate entitled to exemptions must submit documentary evidence along with the application form. Exemptions granted will not be recorded until appropriate fees are paid.
METHOD OF EXAMINATION
Examinations will be conducted by means of essay, objective, and case-oriented questions.
These questions will be prepared jointly by the Institute and academicians, and the examination will be conducted by the Institute jointly with Colleges, Polytechnics, and/or Universities or other independent examining bodies as may be approved by the CIPSMN Council from time to time. The grading of the written test papers will be performed Institute’s Education and Examination Committee and ratified by the Council of CIPSMIN.
Candidates are advised to enter for a minimum of subjects at any examination and must complete a part before moving to the next stage.
No subject shall be recorded unless a Candidate passes at least half of the total number of
subjects offered in the examination at any part or level
